The town sits along the Middle Fork of the Zumbro River.
Rebecca Charles
Rebecca joined the CEDA team in May of 2017. Rebecca has a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the University of Wales, Swansea, and Bachelor of Science in Political Science from South Dakota State University. She has spent the past 15 years working on/leading political campaigns for both local and national candidates, as well as issue based campaigns.
Rebecca’s interest in rural economic development stems from her experiences working with rural communities during her political career, where she heard about the needs and difficulties facing rural communities across the nation. She has a strong desire to help to make positive changes for rural America.
Madelia, MN
Madelia – Minnesota
Madelia is a city in Watonwan County and sits along the Watonwan River.
Nestled away in a small county of Minnesota is the community of Madelia. Madelia is a community with a long and rich history, founded in 1857 by Philander Hartshorn.
Celia Simpson
Celia joined the CEDA team in August of 2023 as a Community and Business Development Specialist for the City of Madelia and Faribault County. She has a strong background in community programming, assisting and facilitating digital literacy workshops and youth robotics competitions through an American Connection Corps fellowship. In her community, she dedicates her free time to various community groups, supporting youth and diverse populations.
Arlington, MN
Arlington – Minnesota
The City of Arlington is located in eastern Sibley County and was laid out in 1856.
Records show that the name was officially approved at a town meeting held on May 11, 1858, which is the same date that Minnesota became a state.
Michael Monson
Michael joined CEDA in February of 2023. He received a B.A. in Business with an emphasis in Marketing from Bethel University. Prior to joining CEDA, Michael worked in different areas of marketing and supported small businesses through various programs. He also grew up in a small town in Minnesota and loves bringing his passion for rural communities to his work with CEDA.
Pelican Rapids, MN
Pelican Rapids – Minnesota
Named for the rapids on the Pelican River.
U.S. Highway 59 and Minnesota State Highway 108 are two of the main routes in the city.
Jordan Grossman
Jordan became a member of the CEDA team in June 2023. Jordan holds an Associates Degree in Business: Marketing and Management as well as certifications in Human Resources. In addition, Jordan worked in the government sector before joining CEDA for four years. Her work experience helped Jordan become an expert in government operations, budgeting, and databases.
Jordan grew up in the rural town of Nevis, Minn., with a population of 337 people and understands the needs of small town municipalities and businesses’. She enjoys seeing them prosper and is excited to create strong relationships with small businesses and residents with a goal to cultivate economic growth and social responsibility. In her free time Jordan enjoys spending time with her family, watching her children's sporting events, traveling, lake days and downhill skiing.
